AH Transportation is a reservation desk in Westchester. Every ride is priced, driven and billed by one California charter-party carrier, a charter company with its own state permit.

Los Angeles airport transfer questions about reserving rides to LAX and Burbank

Los Angeles airport transfer questions about the rides this desk reserves to Los Angeles International Airport and Hollywood Burbank Airport come in four kinds: how reserving works, what the fare holds, what happens at the curb, and how seats and changes are handled. The answers below are the desk's working rules.

Reserving with the desk

How does a request become a ride?

You send the form or call the desk. The desk checks the date with one California charter-party carrier and comes back with that company's written quote. You say yes in writing, the company confirms the pickup time and drives. You pay the company as its quote states, never the desk.

How soon is the reply?

The desk is staffed every day from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pacific, by phone and in writing. A request sent while it is open gets a reply within one hour; one sent overnight gets a reply by 5 a.m. You can send a ride request online 24/7.

What is the earliest pickup the form or phone accepts?

Requests open from the next day, at least 8 hours ahead, whether you use the form or call the desk.

Is sending the form free?

Yes. The form asks for no card and no payment. The quote is free and commits you to nothing until you say yes in writing.

Fares and paying

Is the starting fare the price I pay?

It is where the fare starts for the area's population center: per car, one way, with fuel, road charges and the airport's pickup charge where it applies. The written quote is the fare, and it never goes above $250 for one ride. Tip is your choice and is never added for you.

Does the fare change with the number of riders?

Only if you outgrow the sedan. Every fare is for the whole car, so three riders in a sedan pay the same as one; four or more riders need the three-row SUV, which starts about 35 percent higher.

Is there a round-trip fare?

Each direction is its own request and its own written quote. Send the second one whenever you like.

Curbside at both airports

LAX arrivals: where is the car?

Out on the lower level, at the outer curb past baggage claim, unless the company offers a meeting inside in writing. The LAX page has the full curb note.

Burbank arrivals: where is the car?

At the point the company writes into your confirmation; the new terminal has no single spot for every pre-arranged car yet. More on the Burbank page.

A late landing: does the car wait?

Put the flight number in the request: with it the company can plan around the landing, and its written quote says how much waiting after the landing is included.

LAX or Burbank: which is shorter from my street?

By road, it depends on the area, and the answer is on the line of 31 areas: 9 areas sit nearer to LAX and 22 nearer to Hollywood Burbank. Wilshire is almost exactly between them.

Child seats, edits, cancellations

Who supplies the child seat?

List each child's age and weight on the request form. The company replies in writing whether a matching seat is on board; if it is not, bring your own.

New time, new street, or no ride at all?

Write or call the desk. The company's written quote states its change and cancellation terms, and the cancellation and refund page explains how the desk handles each case.
