Work done at the desk

  • Answers the phone and the request form every day from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pacific.

The carrier's half of the work

It sets the fare in its written quote, confirms the pickup time, sends the car and the driver, and takes the payment. Its legal name and permit number are printed in every written quote. Before passing a ride, the desk checks that the permit is active on the Public Utilities Commission's public list.

A request's path, start to finish

  1. Four short parts

    Airport, area, street, date and time, car size, luggage. The form or the phone, whichever suits you.

  2. Availability goes out

    The request goes to the one charter company the desk works with; a reply comes within one hour while the desk is open (4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pacific), or by 5 a.m. for a request sent overnight, with the company's written quote or the time it will follow.

  3. Your written go-ahead

    In writing. Until then nothing is held against you and nothing is paid.

  4. A car at the door

    The company confirms the pickup time in writing, sends the driver and takes the payment the way its written quote states.

Money between rider, carrier and desk

The desk never bills a rider. The charter company pays the desk a set amount for each ride it carries; the desk adds nothing to the fare in the written quote.
